Excellence in Every Detail.
We exist to bridge the gap between the raw beauty of the Kohala Coast and the refined expectations of the luxury traveler. We are not just event planners; we are architects of memory, ensuring that every moment is safe, seamless, and visually arresting.

Uncompromising Safety
We operate with full commercial liability insurance ($2M aggregate) and adhere to rigorous safety protocols. For resort partners, we provide COIs upon request and ensure all staff are vetted and trained in 5-star hospitality standards.
Stewardship (Mālama)
Our respect for the ʻāina (land) is absolute. We strictly adhere to commercial permit regulations and practice "Leave No Trace" principles. We use sustainable, reusable materials wherever possible to protect our island home.
Visual Precision
Every setup is approached with an editorial eye. With roots in professional photography, we understand light, composition, and aesthetics. We don’t just set a table; we curate a scene ready to be captured.
Local Partnerships
We believe in the circular island economy. Our florals are sourced from local growers, our charcuterie features Big Island purveyors, and our chef partners are independent local talents. When you book with us, you support the community.
Leadership & Creative Direction
Makani Ā Wai is family-owned, bringing a unique blend of operational discipline and artistic vision to the hospitality sector.
Leah Wright
Creative Director
With a background in high-end event planning and visual design, Leah ensures that every texture, color palette, and floral arrangement meets the exacting standards of our clientele. She acts as the primary liaison for wedding planners and design teams.
Nathan Fowler
Director of Operations
Nathan oversees the logistical backbone of the company, from securing permits and insurance compliance to managing vendor partnerships (Boat, Air, & Private Chefs). He ensures that the "invisible service" remains flawless.
